SECOND GEN UPDATE: The 14+ Tundra is one of the most popular trucks among our customers, so it's no wonder that the original flavor Morimoto XB LED headlights were so popular…But there were still some folks who wanted more. With other great options out there such as the OEM LED headlights, which are also a relative bargain compared to Morimoto XBs, some guys just didn't see the value, but now that's about to change with the introduction of the Gen II lights. While they look the same from the outside, it's what's inside that counts!
MORE LIGHT OUTPUT:The original Tundra XB’s used 2 projectors for low beam, and one dedicated high beam. The new setup utilizes all three projectors for the low beam, and has a dual Bi-LED setup. The results? 33% more light output for low beam mode, 100% more output in high beam mode, and a much better distribution of light with more foreground light on the ground directly in front of the truck…translating to improved visibility while cornering. These are easily a top performer compared to the OEM halogen and OEM LED headlights.
START-UP SEQUENCE: If the optical upgrades weren't enough, the badass start up sequence has been added too. When the Daytime Running light kicks on, the projectors illuminate in a two-stage sequence before turning back off in. A video is worth a thousand words here... so to see what we're talking about here – just watch the video feature covering the lights. While it does absolutely nothing for performance, you can't deny the cool-factor!
DOT APPROVED: Make no mistake, these will produce a much different [better] result than slapping some LED replacement bulbs into your stock housings. Their triple-projector optics meet & exceed all SAE, DOT, and FMVSS108 regulations when aimed properly...and that's easy to do with their integrated vertical/lateral adjusters. Unless you've got a jacked up truck, their out of the box aim should be good to go too, since they are pre-set to OEM specifications.
PLUG-N-PLAY: Wiring is easy too! The LED headlights are designed to work on your Toyota Tundra without any modifications. They will plug into the factory connectors for the stock headlights and each assembly includes all necessary connectors, rubber seals, and pigtails for a plug n play install. No error codes, no flickering, hyper-flashing, or any of that. It's also worth mentioning that there were some compatibility bugs on trucks that came with the OEM LED headlights, which have all been ironed out now with an optional adapter harness that's been updated. These lights can easily be removed, and will not void your factory warranty.
SEQUENTIAL LED DRL: Now here comes the game changer here guys. These bad boys are available with your choice of either a white daytime running light, or an all-amber version, which I absolutely love. Either one is powered by Osram LEDs and it is insanely bright, easily visible during the day. The amber looks at-home on Tundras that are decked out with matching off road lights from other well-known brands like Baja or KC HiLites, and the white version looks crispy and modern. They also have a separate optic that's dedicated to the turn signal function – which can be ran in a full on/off mode, or the sequential setup that everybody loves.
WELL-BUILT: Their UV-coated polycarbonate lens will resist the test of time, ensuring your truck's new headlights will look good as new for many years to come. The PPS plastic housing is light-weight and much stronger than comparable alternatives. The die-cast aluminum heat-sinks inside the housings provide more than an adequate amount of cooling for the OEM grade Osram LED chips that produce the light.
OEM PLUS: We live, eat, and sleep headlights. While the Tacoma LED headlights from Morimoto cost a bit more relative to other options in the aftermarket; as the saying goes "you pay for what you get". We've seen it all, and their fit and finish is far superior to everything else out there. Guaranteed.
THEY LOOK: Amazing. At least in our opinion! The subtle elements incorporated in their design are more than enough to make them stand out, but they're clean enough to be considered top of the line original equipment to those who don't know any better. The piano black trim and smoked gray reflectors keep the color scheme neutral, and the triple kuria-optic projectors are as modern as it gets. While the Gen II lights look basically the same as the originals, its whats inside that counts. More features. More options. More light output. Morimoto!
