What to Know About the 2020 Ford Raptor

With every model of vehicle, there are slight changes that only the most determined driver will notice from the previous years. Motorcycles, cars, or pickup trucks will have slight alterations that, in the big picture, may not seem significant; however, they do offer a great variability compared to older models. This is especially true with the Ford Raptor. Here’s what to know about the 2020 Ford Raptor to fully appreciate its stunning aesthetic, powerful performance, and optimal comfortability.

Exterior

You can’t talk about the 2020 Ford Raptor without mentioning the FOX Live Valve Racing Shox suspension system. The monotube shock absorbers use electronic solenoid valves for continuous compression damping, making for optimal driving on typical roads or in off-road conditions. Aside from its suspension, the 2020 Raptor offers the classic grille with “FORD” in black letters, flared front fenders, LED headlamps and taillamps, running boards, and skid plates. One of the main differences to look for in the 2020 Raptor compared to previous models is the variety of color options to choose from. The 2020 model is available in Agate Black, Lead Foot Gray, Velocity Blue, Rapid Red, Oxford White, Ford Performance Blue, Race Red, and Magnetic Gray.

Interior

The Raptor’s interior focuses on power, comfort, and convenience. Anyone driving it cannot say the high-output 3.5L V6 EcoBoost engine is anything but powerful. Ford adds an intense 3.5L Twin-Turbo V6 engine into its pickup trucks giving them a fast, aggressive performance. This is because it shares components with the Ford GT Supercar. Likewise, the port-fuel and direct-injection system and 10-speed automatic transmission give the Raptor a high performance not usually seen in other trucks. Based on the ratings using premium fuel per SAE standards, the 2020 model can get an intense 450 hp and 510lb of torque. However, depending on the engine and fuel used, the horsepower and torque may vary. Additionally, Ford designed the interior with comfort in mind. The standard cloth front bucket seats offer the driver and passenger full lumbar support, while the back seats can flip-up for a split-bench. There are also front and rear leather-trim and heated seat options available.

Accessories

While its impressive exterior and interior are features to highlight, the Raptor’s accessories make it an all-around well-designed machine. The Trail Control feature is one of the accessories that complete the truck’s robust performance. This high-tech component is a cruise-control system designed primarily for low-traction off-road performance. You can manage the speed, acceleration, braking, torque, and stopping force all based on the changing road conditions or terrain. This feature makes off-roading a breeze. Some other important features include a 4.2” productivity screen, pre-collision assist with automatic braking, as well as an instrument panel and rear flow-through console. Further, a reverse sensing system, AM/FM radio, SiriusXM Satellite radio, SYNC-3 integrated communication and entertainment system, and the unique FordPass WiFi Hotspot come included.

These are just some of the impressive components of the 2020 Ford Raptor. To make it even better, be sure to check out our selection of raptor lights to be able to see the road no matter the conditions. We design our light kits for LED or fog light options.
